Welcome!

Are you feeling overwhelmed?

I want to help.

It’s Time to Take Care of You..

I believe that nurturing both the mind and body are essential for a joyful life. As a psychologist and certified nutritionist, I work with folks who are struggling to feel well. These are folks who have eating issues (too much or too little), have a hard time managing health conditions, suffer from chronic pain, have a lot of stress or trauma in their lives, or are feeling depressed or anxious.  Many folks deal with multiple issues all at once.

Making positive life changes are some of the hardest things you will ever do …and also the most rewarding. My goal is to create a safe and compassionate space for you to work through your issues and feel better. As a therapist, I want to help you heal from the things that are getting in the way of your ability to thrive, so you can live the life you want.

I use a combination of evidence-based practices such as Cognitive, Behavioral, and Attachment psychology to get to the root of your problem. Sometimes this means re-visiting painful experiences, but not always. I will then help you come up with solutions, learn new skills, and come up with strategies to live a healthier life filled with joy and peace.

Treatment Focus

I dedicate about half of my practice to seeing people who are struggling with eating disorders such as anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating disorder. In the other half of my practice, I see folks who are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma and PTSD, stress, fatigue, sleep issues, and other chronic health concerns such as diabetes, PCOS, chronic pain, etc.

Next Steps

Currently, I have openings for new clients and see people both in-person at my Puyallup office or over telehealth (for those that prefer virtual appointments). I provide individual services for both adults and teens age 14 years and older. I would love for you to give me a call (253) 528-3242 or email (contact@drlaweryson.com) to schedule a free 20-minute phone consultation to see if we are a good fit. If we decide we would like to work together, I will then schedule your first session during this phone call.

What About Group Therapy?

Occasionally I run therapy groups for those dealing with disordered eating, chronic pain, and trauma. Many people feel anxious about the idea of group therapy however, groups can be an incredibly healing and rewarding process. If this is something you are interested in, please call to inquire about upcoming groups.

Currently offering:

Weekly drop-in group: “Coping with Chronic Pain” on Thursday nights, 6:00 PM- 7:00 PM.

Closed group: “Overcome Binge Eating!” call or email for more information on the next cohort.

**Currently, all groups are being run virtually and I welcome folks who are located anywhere in Washington State! See the Services tab for more information.
