"Healing begins with understanding the whole picture"
DR. Annie Laweryson
Clinical Psychologist | Certified Nutritionist
My approach to mental health begins with getting to know you. I want to understand you and your story, beyond a diagnostic label or symptom. As someone who has been trained in multiple disciplines, I can help you put the pieces together in a way that makes sense and is meaningful to you.
In my practice, I work with a broad range of mental health concerns but have a special focus in helping people with eating disorders, disordered, eating, body image concerns, and co-occurring health/mental health problems.
The way I see it, psychological concerns rarely exist in isolation. We will work together to understand the entirety of your experiences and I will bring evidence based treatments and interventions tailored to you.
Clinical Psychology. This is my primary clinical foundation and the basis of my understanding of psychological functioning.
Nutrition. Provides an additional lens for understanding eating behavior and the ways psychological, behavioral, and nutritional processes can influence one another.
Clinical Psychopharmacology. Allows me to thoughtfully consider the psychological and behavioral implications of medications and psychiatric treatment. *Please know that I do not prescribe medication and medication decisions should always remain with your prescribing clinician.
Clinical-Community Psychology. Shapes my attention to the broader social, cultural, relational, and environmental contexts that influence how people experience themselves and the world around them.
Putting It All Together. I work primarily as a psychologist. I then integrate my diverse training and background to add depth to understanding the overlap of physical and mental health.
